Critical
limb ischemia / ischemic ulcer of the leg, foot especially in diabetic
patients untreatable with conventional treatments such as bypass surgery
The ischemic lower limb with ulcer
in diabetic patients, which were destined for amputation when tried with
autologous bone marrow stem cells, have made tremendous improvements with
the vascular supply as well as healing of the ulcers. The first such
treatment with a miraculously successful
outcome was done at Vijaya health centre, Dept of vascular Surgery by
Dr SR Subrammaniyan and from then similar patients have been treated
regularly with stem cells, whose isolation and processing are accomplished
at NCRM.
